About the Author

Emmy Marshall has always been inspired to shoot for the moon and live in a world where imagination adds wonder to life. She was born and raised in Aspen, Colorado—back when it still felt like a magical snow globe of a town, full of possibility and charm. On weekends, you could find her playing dress-up in her Grammy's women's and children's clothing store, galloping on invisible unicorns between clothing racks and transforming ordinary moments into magical adventures.

After high school, she chased the sunshine and moved to Santa Monica. She put herself through Santa Monica College, transferred to UCLA, and earned a degree in Philosophy. Her college notebooks revealed her true passion: doodles, characters, and the seeds of fantastical stories filled every margin. She found a way to give the great philosophers the time and respect they deserved, but her characters and ideas were the main stars of her college career.

Now a mother of three children, Emmy has come to appreciate the magic of storytelling more than ever. As a mother, she believes books are one of our most powerful tools. They teach kindness, resilience, compassion, and confidence. They remind children, and the adults reading with them, that they are unique, they are enough, and they are seen.

When her Grammy, the woman who was always her source of happy, passed away, everything changed in an instant. In that season of loss, she turned to imagination as a lifeline. She began creating an untouchable place, a place where you could breathe underwater, cloud-hop, and enter caves filled with shooting stars. That world brought light back into her life and became a source of joy, hope, and adventure for her children.

Now, she writes to pass that light on. She writes to remind readers of every age that imagination is not just a way to escape, it's a way to connect, heal, and believe in the beauty of being exactly who you are
